Setting up an Apple ID for a family member
As an alternative to sharing your Apple ID directly with your child, creating an account for them is a great way to easily set parental controls and utilize Family Sharing Settings.
1.
From the Settings app, tap your Apple ID profile.

Tap Family.
3.
Tap the Add member icon.
From this screen, you can also select an existing family member. This will allow you to manage their settings as well as remove them from Family.

Tap Create Child Account.
5.
You've completed the steps!
