Setting up an Apple Watch for a family member
From the Watch app, tap Start Pairing.
Tap Set Up for a Family Member.
Tap Continue.
Tap Continue again.
Tap Continue again.
Tap Pair Apple Watch Manually.
Select your Watch.
Enter the code displayed on your Watch.
Tap Set Up Apple Watch.
Tap Continue.
Tap Agree.
Tap Continue.
Tap Create a Passcode.
On your watch, enter a passcode.
On your watch, re-enter the passcode.
Tap Create New Apple Account.
Tap Continue.
Enter the verification code sent to the family members email.
Enter the password for the Apple Account and tap Continue.
Enter a phone number to verify your identity via text or phone call, then tap Continue.
Tap Agree.
Tap Share Your Location.
Enter the Family Members email or phone number to sign in and tap Continue.
Tap Set up Cellular to activate the watch’s independent line now, or Not Now to finish later in the Watch app.
- For this tutorial, we will select Not Now. If you choose to set up cellular now, your steps will vary.
- Without a cellular plan, this watch cannot make calls, send texts, or share its real-time location (Find My) unless it is connected to Wi-Fi.
Tap Enable Location Services.
Tap Don't Use Siri.
Tap Share with Apple.
Tap Continue.
Tap Done.
