It&rsquo;s easiest to add Next Up Anytime when you buy a new phone on an installment plan, but you can do it within 14 days by visiting or calling an <a href="/stores/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_self">AT&amp;T store</a>. Business customers have 30 days.

With Next Up Anytime, you do need to turn in your old phone in good physical and working condition.

If you have an AT&amp;T Installment Plan without Next Up or Next Up Anytime, you can upgrade after all 36 monthly payments&mdash;and your old device is yours to keep.

With Next Up Anytime, you can upgrade after making your first device installment payment and your first Next Up Anytime payment.

If you&rsquo;d like to take advantage of eligible AT&amp;T smartphone deals, you&rsquo;ll need to pay off at least one-third of your device before upgrading.
