If the setup in your home looks like the image, first connect a battery backup to your Wi-Fi gateway and then to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT).




Next, connect your phones to your battery backup. Choose one of the following:
Before installing battery backup, unplug your Wi-Fi gateway. It should take you about 10 minutes to connect your battery backup. 

Good to know: While setting up your battery backup, your internet, phone, or U-verse® TV service will be interrupted. This includes watching and recording TV shows

Installation options

New service with technician install

Our tech can install a new, compatible battery backup unit if you have it available when your service is set up. There will be no cost for you.

Existing service with tech install

If you already have AT&T services but would like a tech to install a new battery backup you purchased, a tech can install your equipment for a charge. Costs vary for installation
