The AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender helps eliminate weak spots in your home by creating a mesh network. The Wi-Fi signal from your router or Wi-Fi Gateway may degrade over distance or when passing through certain materials. With a degraded signal, you may not be getting the most out of your AT&T Fiber internet service.By using the AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender, users can get better speeds while connected through Wi-Fi in every part of their home, including basements and attics.Find out more about how Wi-Fi Extenders work.

Many of the great features of the AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender are accessed through the AT&T Smart Home App.

The AT&T Smart Home App can be used to determine if a Wi-Fi Extender is necessary to get the most out of your home network. If a Wi-Fi Extender is necessary, the AT&T Smart Home App can then be used to place the Wi-Fi Extender in the most optimal location.

In addition to being useful for the setup and administration of network devices, the AT&T Smart App can be used to set limits for kids, track data usage, and more.

The AT&T Smart Wi-Fi extender is managed through the AT&T Smart Home Manager app. The AT&T Smart Home Manager app allows users to check the status of their AT&T Smart Wi-Fi extender, check devices connected to the extender, and set the extender up in the best location.

The AT&T Wi-Fi extender is designed to be compatible with the BGW320, BGW210, or 5268AC AT&T Wi-Fi Gateways. These Wi-Fi Gateways feature Wi-Fi 6 technology, a more advanced wireless transmission standard that allows more devices to be connected without any loss in connection speed.

The AT&T Gateway works as both a modem and a router and is included with AT&T Fiber internet. You can find out more about the AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway here.

You should place your Wi-Fi extender where there are dead zones or low signal within your Wi-Fi network. You can find the optimal placement for each extender with the Smart Home Manager app.

A Wi-Fi booster increases the range of a router or Gateway by making the signal more powerful. It increases the range of the Wi-Fi network by amplifying the strength of the antenna. A Wi-Fi extender strengthens the signal of a Wi-Fi network in a specific area. Wi-Fi extenders connect routers or Gateways to dead zones or areas with weak signals. Unlike a Wi-Fi booster, Wi-Fi extenders are not installed on the router or Gateway itself, they are deployed where they are needed.

If you are an AT&T Internet customer, you may be eligible to get AT&T Extended Wi-Fi coverage service for an additional fee, which includes a new smart Wi-Fi extender (or more than one if you qualify1), a free extender replacement if it’s defective (as long as you have the service) and tools via the Smart Home Manager app to help you get the most out of your extended Wi-Fi coverage.

The BGW320 is the latest model of AT&T Wi-Fi Gateways. Unlike the BGW210, the BGW320 Wi-Fi Gateway features a 5 Gbps ethernet port. The BGW320 also features support for the 802.11ax transmission standard, which allows full Wi-Fi 6 capabilities. With this latest Wi-Fi transmission standard, more devices can be connected to the Wi-Fi Gateway without affecting connection speed. If you have 5 GIG AT&T Fiber service, you will want a BGW320 Wi-Fi Gateway to take advantage of higher single-device wired transmission speeds.
