Enabling Internet Backup for the first time (network outage)
Internet Backup allows you to seamlessly keep your Wi-Fi connection active by depending on your phone’s cellular connection. Follow along with these steps to learn how to enable Internet Backup and ensure you never lose connection.
1.
Tap the Outage alert Push Notification to open the Smart Home Manager app.
This could also be a text message or email depending on what is enabled on your device, available, and what information has been provided to AT&T.

From the Home tab, tap Learn more from the We found a service outage For You card.

Tap Let's go.
You can also get to the next step by tapping Lets go on the “Stay connected with Internet Backup” For You card.

Tap Enable.
5.
Tap the I have read... checkbox to agree to the terms.
6.
Swipe to enable Internet Backup.
If the customer has not accepted permissions when they first downloaded the Smart Home Manager app they might need to allow push notifications.
