Setting up Face ID
From the Home screen, tap Settings.
Scroll to and tap Face ID & Passcode.
If necessary, enter your passcode. You're required to set up a passcode in order to use Face ID.
Tap Set Up Face ID.
For this tutorial, we're showing how to set up Face ID. You can also set up your phone to unlock only using a passcode, but steps may vary based on what you choose.
Tap Get Started.
With your face positioned within the camera frame, slowly rotate your head in a circle.
Tap Set Up Later.
Tap Done.
If necessary, enter and confirm a passcode to use when Face ID is not available.
Press the Side button to put iPhone to sleep.
Press the Side button to wake iPhone.
You must be looking at iPhone to activate Face ID.
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to unlock iPhone.
You've completed the steps!
