Checking if your phone is carrier locked
An unlocked mobile device can be used on any available network instead of being limited to a single network. Follow along with this tutorial to identify whether or not your device has carrier restrictions.
1.
From the Settings app, tap Connections.

Scroll to and tap More connection settings.
3.
On this screen, you can review your device's status.
- "Unlocked": No carrier restrictions are detected. The device should be open to all networks.
- "Locked": The device is restricted to its current carrier and will not recognize other providers.
4.
After you've reviewed your device's status, tap the Back icon to return to Connections.
5.
Tap Mobile networks.
6.
Tap Network operators.
7.
Tap or slide the Select automatically switch to OFF.
If your device only shows one carrier, it’s likely your device is locked to that carrier. However, if you have multiple available networks, then your device is likely unlocked.
