Checking if your phone is carrier locked
An unlocked mobile device can be used on any available network instead of being limited to a single network. Follow along with this tutorial to identify whether or not your device has carrier restrictions.
1.
From the Settings app, tap Network & internet.
If no cellular networks are added to your device at this time, instead skip to step 6.

Tap SIMs & mobile network.

Select your carrier's SIM card.

Scroll to and tap Choose network.

Another method to verify if your device is carrier locked is through the About phone settings. Tap BACK four times to return to the landing of the Settings app.

Scroll to and tap About phone.
7.
Scroll to and tap Device details.
8.
Scroll to Network Lock.
If your device displays “Unlocked” under Network Lock setting, then your device is unlocked. However, if your device displays “Locked”, then your device is currently locked to a specific carrier.
