Messaging Settings

Adjust text and picture message settings, notifications, Advanced Messaging options, font size, and emergency alerts.

INSTRUCTIONS & INFO
  1. ACCESS MESSAGE SETTINGS: From the home screen, select the Messages app.
  2. Select the Menu icon, then select Settings.
  3. ADJUST NOTIFICATIONS: From the Messages settings screen, select Notifications. Select the Notifications switch to enable message notifications. Edit other notifications as desired.
  4. CHANGE NOTIFICATION SOUND: From the App notifications screen, select General notifications > Sound > desired sound > Back icon.
  5. TURN ON/OFF ADVANCED MESSAGING: From the Messages settings screen, select Advanced Messaging > Advanced Messaging switch.
    Note: If Advanced Messaging is turned on and you are messaging another device using Advanced Messaging you can share files up to 10MB (or up to 100MB if all participants are using the most recently released 2019 software), get read receipts, and see when someone is replying.   6. CHANGE FONT SIZE: From the Messages settings screen, select Font size. Make sure the Use device font sizes switch is turned off, then select and drag the FONT SIZE slider to the desired size. Select DONE when finished.
  7. ACCESS TEXT MESSAGE/MULTIMEDIA SETTINGS: From the Messages settings screen, select More settings. Select Text messages to view message settings. Select Multimedia messages to view multimedia message settings.
  8. VIEW MESSAGE CENTER NUMBER: From the Messages settings screen, select More settings > Text messages > the Message center number will be displayed.
  9. EMERGENCY ALERTS: From the Messages settings screen, select Wireless emergency alerts > Emergency alerts > edit settings as desired.
