Learn about your Connected Life key fob

Actualizado hace más de 3 semanas

Some AT&T Connected Life kits include a key fob. You can use it to arm or disarm your security system without entering a code on the keypad. You can also assign a key fob to a different user by naming it for that person. Key fobs function within a 100-foot range from your hub.

Key fob overview

  • Arm Away button: Activates armed away mode when the user is leaving the home. (Interior and perimeter on)

  • Arm Home button: Activates armed home mode so the user can remain in the home and move freely about while the perimeter doors and windows with sensors are armed. (Interior off and perimeter on)

  • Standby button: Places your system into the disarmed mode. (Fire and water sensors, always on)

  • Panic button: In the event of distress, press this button for five seconds to activate the system alarm. This button isn’t configured by default. Contact the Abode support team for Connected Life to request activation of the button into a panic button.

  • LED signal indicator: Lights up red when the key fob transmits a signal. Hold down buttons while pressing them until the red LED indicator goes out to make sure the key fob sends a signal.

Pairing guide

Good to know: If your key fob came with your security kit, it’s already paired with the hub.

  1. Go to the Devices tab and select the plus (+). This displays the Add device screen.

  2. Select Security add-ons and then key fob.

  3. Press X on the key fob panel to place the hub into pairing mode.

When the hub receives the key fob signal, it beeps twice to confirm it has been accepted. The screen displays the device info for the key fob and gives you the option to name the device.

Solución de problemas

Keypad doesn’t arm

This can happen when there's a system fault that prevents it from arming. (Example: Door sensor isn't registering as closed). You can open the Connected Life app to see the fault and fix it. Or you can enter your PIN on the keypad and arm the system to override the fault anyway.

Key fob reset

If your key fob starts to operate inconsistently or stops working altogether, follow these steps to reset it.

  1. Delete the device from your system.

  2. Remove the key fob’s rubber cover.

  3. Separate the two halves and remove the battery.

  4. Press any button on the device 10 times to remove any remaining charge.

  5. Replace the battery and add it back to your Connected Life devices using the app.
