Next Up Anytime also allows you to access our smartphone deals after you make 12 monthly installment plan payments (or pay off one-third of your device cost). 
 
Keep in mind, the $10 a month Next Up Anytime charge doesn&rsquo;t apply toward the installment balance owed on your device.

Yes, you&nbsp;can switch&nbsp;to an AT&amp;T Installment Plan with Next Up Anytime within&nbsp;14 days&nbsp;of buying a new smartphone. Business customers have&nbsp;30 days.

If you have a&nbsp;<a data-mce-href="https://www.att.com/offers/device-protection/" href="/offers/device-protection/" target="_self">mobile device protection plan with AT&amp;T Protect&nbsp;AdvantageSM</a>, you can file a claim and pay the applicable deductible to replace or repair your smartphone. Then, you can turn in your replacement smartphone when you&rsquo;re eligible to upgrade as long as it&rsquo;s in good physical and fully functional condition at the time you turn it in. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Or, you can keep your smartphone and complete all the installment payments. Once all payments have been made, you can upgrade to a new smartphone. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Good to know:&nbsp;If you plan to keep your smartphone until the end of your installment term, you might consider removing AT&amp;T Next Up or AT&amp;T Next Up Anytime. If you remove AT&amp;T Next Up/Next Up Anytime , you won&rsquo;t be eligible to upgrade early anymore. You won&rsquo;t be able to add the feature back to your installment plan, so make sure you really want to remove it. AT&amp;T Next Up Anytime can be added back to your installment plan within 30 days of removal. Keep in mind, once Next Up/Next Up Anytime is removed, we can&rsquo;t refund any charges you&rsquo;ve already paid.&nbsp;

You can turn in your smartphone once&nbsp;you&rsquo;re&nbsp;eligible to upgrade early. Make sure your account is in good standing and your smartphone is in good physical condition and fully functional. You&rsquo;ll&nbsp;pay taxes on the full device price at the point of sale. You may also have to make a down payment. The down payment amount depends on a variety of factors including your credit, how long&nbsp;you&rsquo;ve&nbsp;been an AT&amp;T customer, and your payment history. The down payment amount also depends on how many devices&nbsp;you&rsquo;re&nbsp;financing.

Yes, you&rsquo;ll need to sign an installment agreement. This agreement explains what you&rsquo;ll pay each month for your smartphone and other details. You must have eligible talk and data service for your smartphone throughout your agreement. For new customers, eligible service plans begin at $50 per month after AutoPay and paperless billing discounts (for new business customers, $50 per month after AutoPay discount). If you&rsquo;re an existing customer, you can add your new smartphone to an eligible existing plan, which may cost less. &nbsp; &nbsp;

If you cancel your wireless service, the unpaid balance on the smartphone is due. Also, AT&amp;T requires a month-to-month Consumer Service Agreement for your wireless service or a qualified business agreement. &nbsp;

If you cancel your wireless service through AT&amp;T,&nbsp;you&rsquo;ll&nbsp;owe the remaining unpaid installment balance on the smartphone.

If you&nbsp;purchased&nbsp;your device on an AT&amp;T Installment Plan at a non-AT&amp;T branded store (e.g., a National Retailer like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, etc.), then your agreement was sold and assigned to AT&amp;T Mobility Next Operations LLC (NMLS#1186562). Your installment plan has been and will continue to be billed by AT&amp;T on your wireless account.
