Find out who can manage AT&T accounts online

Manage your AT&T account online with either primary or secondary online access.

Who can access an account

Account owner

The account owner is the person who is financially responsible for an account. The account owner:

  • Is established when the account is set up
  • Has their name listed on the bill

Primary online access

This can belong to only one person or AT&T ID at a time. The person with primary access:

  • Is often the account owner, but that's not required
  • Controls who else can manage the account online

Secondary online access

This can belong to multiple people or AT&T IDs.

A person with secondary access can co-manage the AT&T account online. They can do most of the same things as the person with primary access.

What users can manage online

Primary and secondary online users can do many of the same things:

  • Access and manage the account online
  • Change or upgrade plans and services
  • Manage add-ons
  • View and pay bills
  • Transfer billing responsibility
  • Turn Wireless Account Lock on and off
  • Update profile info (email, phone number, address)

Only primary users can:

  • Request a number transfer PIN
  • Add or remove retail authorized users
  • Add or remove secondary online access users
  • Transfer primary access to a secondary user

Learn how to change who can access your accounts online.
