This page describes the privacy practices of the AT&T Connected Life app. The app is operated by Abode Systems in partnership with AT&T and integrates with Google Home. Below we explain how the app accesses, uses, protects, retains, and deletes Google user data, followed by links to the full AT&T and Abode privacy policies.
Google User Data (Google Home integration)
What Google user data we access
The Connected Life app connects to your Google Home account using Google’s Google Home Platform (GHP) SDK. Through this integration we access your Google Home account identifier and information about the homes and devices linked to that account (such as device names, types, room assignments, and device status), solely as needed to link your accounts and provide the app’s smart-home features. We do not access any other Google account data (such as Gmail, Contacts, or Drive).
How we use Google user data
We use Google user data only to provide and improve the app’s user-facing features: linking your Google Home account, displaying and controlling your devices, and showing device status and activity. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we never sell it.
Connected Life’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties. The only exceptions are where disclosure is required by law or necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), and any such disclosure is limited to what is strictly required.
Our infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
How we protect Google user data
Google user data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest using industry-standard encryption (e.g., AES-256), and access is restricted to systems and personnel that require it to operate the service.
Retention and deletion
We retain Google user data only as long as needed to provide the features described above. When you disconnect your Google Home account from Connected Life or delete your Connected Life account, the associated Google user data is deleted within 7 days. You can also request deletion by contacting privacy@goabode.com, and you can revoke the app’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
