Add the Google Nest Doorbell to your AT&T Connected Life system with the Connected Life app and a Google Home account.
Pair a Nest Doorbell (battery)
Before you can pair Nest Doorbell with AT&T Connected Life, you’ll need a Google Home account. If you already have an account, we’ll ask you to sign in and link it when you set up your Connected Life security hub and security devices. If you don’t have a Google Home account, we’ll take you to Google Home to create one.
Once your accounts are linked, follow the prompts in the Google Home app to get set up. The app will search for nearby devices. When asked, choose the Nest Doorbell battery as the device you want to set up. You’ll scan the QR code on the back of the doorbell using your phone’s camera. Or, enter the numbers near the QR code. The app will walk you through setup and installation.
Your Connected Life subscription comes with a Nest Aware subscription. You’ll be asked to:
Apply Nest Aware to your Connected Life home
Set up the Nest Aware features you want
Set permissions to access your Nest cameras and doorbell in the Connected Life app
Note: If you don’t complete setup for your Nest Doorbell and for Nest Aware, you may not be able to see your doorbell in the Connected Life app.
Charge the doorbell
Use the included USB cable to fully charge your doorbell for wire-free installation. Keep it plugged in during setup so it can connect to the app and your Wi-Fi network.
The status light will pulse white when your doorbell is charging and turn solid white when it's completely charged.
Install a Nest Doorbell (wireless installation)
Check that you have all the parts included in the box, including:
Nest Doorbell (battery)
Wall plate
Wedge
Wire extenders (You won't need these for wire-free installation.)
Screws
Wall anchors
Spacers
Unlock tool
USB-C to USB-A charging cable
The Nest Doorbell comes with a wedge you can use to adjust the doorbell's camera angle if it's located in a corner. This wedge can angle your doorbell horizontally up to 20°. If your doorbell needs a wider angle, or you need to adjust the angle vertically, you can purchase a Made for Google doorbell wedge.
Tools
Phillips screwdriver
Power drill
Phillips drill bit
1/4 in (6.5 mm) drill bit (for wall anchors)
3/32 in (2 mm) drill bit (optional, to drill into hard materials like brick and stucco)
Bubble level (to check doorbell alignment)
Use a Google Home or Nest speaker or display (recommended)
Your doorbell can't use your home's doorbell chime with wire-free installation. So if you want to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you're home, connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements.
