Set Up Voicemail with the HTC Windows Phone 8X (PM23300)


Advisory

There are two options for managing your voicemail on your HTC Windows Phone 8X: AT&T Basic Voicemail or Visual Voicemail.
  • Basic Voicemail: Basic voicemail is the standard voicemail answering service that is available on all AT&T wireless phones, and can be accessed even after setting up Visual Voicemail. Basic Voicemail allows you to dial into your voicemail box, and follow the voice prompts to listen to or manage voice messages. For additional information, click here.
      
  • Visual Voicemail: Visual Voicemail is a free service built-in to Windows Phone 8 that allows you to play and manage your voicemail messages from an on-screen inbox, just as you would with an email account. For additional information, click here.
      
Please see the instructions below for steps on setting up your desired voicemail option.

Instructions

Set up Basic Voicemail
  1. From the Start screen, tap the Phone Tile .
  2. Tap .
  3. Once connected, follow the voice prompts to setup your mailbox, and access your messages.
    • New user activations: Follow the voice prompts to configure your new voicemail box.
    • Device upgrades: Your existing voicemail inbox will be remain attached to your account. Access this inbox with your existing voicemail password.

Set up Visual Voicemail
  1. From the Start screen, tap the Phone Tile .
  2. Tap .
  3. Once connected to the interactive voicemail system, login with your existing password. When finished, hang up the call. NOTE: Users accessing voicemail for the first time will need to create a new password and set up their inbox. 
      
  4. Enter your existing voicemail password when prompted, and then tap Done.
     
       
  5. Your Visual Voicemail inbox will be displayed. For help playing messages, click here.
