Master reset

Erase all data from your device, including personal account information. Do a master reset to return the device to the manufacturer's original settings.


INSTRUCTIONS & INFO
  1. To perform a master reset, swipe left from the Start screen.
    Note: A master reset will erase all music, photos, contacts and personal information from the device. There are two methods for performing a master reset. The second method begins at step 7.

  2. Scroll to, then tap Settings.

  4. Scroll to, then tap reset your phone.
    Note: WARNING – Resetting your phone will erase all your personal content, including apps that you purchased and downloaded, and will restore the factory settings.

  7. To perform a master reset using the device keys instead, first ensure that the device is powered off.

  8. Press and hold the Volume down key, then press the Power key until an icon appears on the screen.
    Note: The Power key is the key at the top of the device.

  9. Press the hardware buttons in the following sequence:

  10. Press the Volume up key.

  12. Press the Power key.

  13. Press the Volume down key.
    Note: The device will reset to factory settings, and all data will be erased from the device.
