1. To access message settings, from the home screen, tap Messages.
   
2. tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap Settings.
   
4. To edit notification settings, under the Notifications section tap the Notifications switch to turn notification alerts on/off. Edit additional settings as desired.
   
5. To set a limit on the number of text messages you can send, tap Text message limit.
   
6. Choose Limit number, then tap SET.
   
7. To set a limit on the number of text messages you can send, tap Multimedia message limit.
   
8. Choose Limit number, then tap SET.
   
9. To access emergency alert settings, from the messaging inbox, tap the Menu icon.
   
10. Tap Emergency alerts.
    
11. Adjust Desired emergency alert settings.
    
12. To restore default settings, from the messaging settings menu, tap the Menu icon. 
    
13.  Tap  Restore default settings.
