In this tutorial, you will learn how to:
• Access Multi Window
• Open an app completely
• Close a window
• Use picture-in-picture
Access Multi Window
1. Press the Recent apps button.
Note: If it is your first time using Multi Window, review the Multi window prompt then select OK.
2. Select the Multi Window icon
on the desired app.
Note: Only compatible apps will have the Multi Window icon.
3. Select the desired app to display in the bottom window. Press the Recent apps button again to change the bottom app.
Note: For this demonstration, the Calendar and Gallery apps were used.
Open an app completely
The app with the blue line is the active app. Select and drag the divider in the middle of the screen down to the bottom or up to the top of the screen, depending on which app you want to open completely.
Close a window
Press the Home button, then select the X icon on the remaining open split screen on the top of the home screen.
Note: Selecting the X icon will close the bottom window. Alternately, to expand one window and close the second window select and drag the Divider icon to the bottom or top of the screen.
While using apps such as Google Maps, Duo, YouTube or Chrome in full-screen, select the Home key
. The app will display as a Picture-in-picture window
in the corner of the screen.Note: You can select and drag the window as desired. Picture-in-picture is enabled by default on select apps. To view which apps can use Picture-in-picture, swipe down from the Notification bar > select the Settings icon > General tab > Apps & notifications > Special access > Picture-in-Picture > apps that can use Picture-in-picture will be displayed.
