Whether it’s through recruitment and career development or through our commitment to help bridge the digital divide, we’re dedicated to uplifting and taking action that advocates for and empowers the Black community.

Workforce

Black employees make up 20.1% of our U.S. workforce; 15.4% of managers; 24.5% of frontline employees.

In 2022, Black employees made up 27.8% of our new hires.

Our NETwork Employee Resource Group has more than 7,600 members.

Community

Creating opportunity is also about investing in and nurturing talent.

AT&T is a longtime supporter of HBCUs, and we are committed to empowering future leaders, providing opportunity and dedicating our resources toward initiatives that foster economic growth and innovation.

In February 2021, we announced the launch of AT&T University’s HBCU Future Leaders Program, a multi-year mentoring and workforce readiness initiative for HBCU students. This offering provides HBCU interns with exposure to internal senior leaders and external cultural titans, as well as opportunities to engage with peers and form meaningful connections.

In January of 2023, AT&T Dream in Black’s signature program, Black Future Makers, returned with the unveiling of its 2023 inductees and a month-long program highlighting our continued commitment to economic empowerment in the Black community.

In 2022, AT&T Dream in Black Rising Future Makers recognized 25 students currently attending HBCUs who are making a positive impact within their communities and campuses before finishing their degrees.

By working with organizations and events like Black Enterprise and ESSENCE Festival of Culture, AT&T is able to connect and engage with the Black community in a more meaningful way.
