Frequently asked questions
- Will my phone work in Mexico like it does in the U.S.?Yes. Your wireless plan is subject to the same data rules in Mexico as it is in the U.S., although network speeds can be slower outside of the U.S. (as low as 2G).
- Can I call Mexico for free from the U.S. on my AT&T plan?Calling Mexico from your AT&T phone does not add any costs to your monthly plan. You can call Mexico and Canada from the U.S. without paying long-distance fees.
- What happens if I use my AT&T phone more in Mexico than in the U.S.?Nothing! Other carriers have a 50/50 rule that controls how much time you can spend on your phone in either country. AT&T doesn’t.
- Do I need to have two separate phones: one phone for the U.S., and another phone for when I’m in Mexico? No way! That would be inconvenient. You can use the same phone and AT&T wireless plan in both Mexico and the U.S.
