Learn about AT&T & DIRECTV billing changes

If you receive a single bill for both AT&T and DIRECTV, you’ll soon start receiving separate bills for each service.

Overview

As of July 1, 2025, AT&T and DIRECTV became separate companies. This change will affect how you receive bills, but your AT&T and DIRECTV services will stay the same.

What’s changing

If you receive a single bill for bundled AT&T and DIRECTV services, you should have received an email and a bill message about the changes due to the split. If you didn’t, check your contact preferences in your AT&T account profile to make sure your email address is correct. You can also check your junk or spam folders in your email.

Beginning at the billing separation date provided in your notice, you’ll receive separate bills from AT&T and DIRECTV. These aren’t duplicates. Pay each bill separately to avoid disruption of services. It may take up to two bill periods to start receiving separate bills.

What’s not changing

  • Existing contracts and service terms remain as is.
  • Existing discounts or credits for AT&T products remain the same. Check the notice you received by mail or email for details.
  • Existing discounts or credits for DIRECTV products remain the same. After your bill has been split into two bills, you can see details about your DIRECTV bill online at directv.com.

Billing

Two bills instead of one

As part of the unbundling process, you’ll start to get separate bills for your AT&T and DIRECTV services.

You can access your AT&T bills online at att.com or with the AT&T app. Review your DIRECTV bills online at directv.com.

The due date for your AT&T bill will stay the same. The due date for your DIRECTV services will be available on your first separate bill.

Once your billing is separated, please visit DIRECTV online to set up autopay, add payment methods, update contact information, and view new bills for your DIRECTV account. You’ll receive an email (to the email address listed on your DIRECTV account) with details about signing into or creating your DIRECTV account so you can manage video services and set up payment for DIRECTV charges.

Discounts and credits

Any existing discounts or credits you receive for AT&T products and services will stay with your account after the bill separation. Refer to your email for ongoing promotion details.

Existing discounts or credits for DIRECTV products remain the same. If you have questions about your DIRECTV bill, contact DIRECTV online at directv.com.

Payments

AT&T

You can pay your AT&T bill online, in person, over the phone, and by mail. If you’re enrolled in AutoPay or paperless billing and want to keep it, you don’t need to do anything.
