At the bottom of the page under Service commitment or My wireless contract, if you see:
You’re on a Next contract, you don’t have an ETF.
This device doesn’t have an annual service commitment and you’re paying for it in installments, you don’t have an ETF.
Your annual service commitment is from xxxx to xxxx, you have an ETF. Use the service commitment start and end dates to determine how many full months of service you have completed.
To estimate the ETF, start with the amount shown then subtract the dollar amount for each full month of service completed.
Note: If you cancel service within the first 14 days of activating wireless service, you won't be required to pay an ETF as long as you return the device(s) in like-new condition. To find out if your device is eligible for return, visit Getting Started with AT&T Wireless Return Phone Policy.
About your ETF
An ETF is another way to fulfill a service commitment - it's not a penalty. Once your service commitment is complete, there's no ETF if you cancel service.
The ETF amount, if any, depends on the type of device you purchased and how much of your service commitment you completed at the time you cancel service. The ETF amount declines over time.
