Link your wireless number to your phone voicemail

If you have wireless service from AT&T, you can receive all of your messages in one place by linking your wireless phone number to your AT&T digital phone mailbox.

Integrated Voicemail – Digital Phone

Here’s a convenient option to combine your AT&T wireless and Digital Phone voicemail into a single voicemail box. Add up to 2 wireless numbers to your Digital Phone voicemail. If you want, you can also move your wireless numbers from your single voicemail box to their own voicemail boxes.

Manage linking your wireless number to your voicemail box

What you need to know

Link your wireless number and voicemail box
When your wireless service is provided by AT&T, you can combine your wireless and digital phone mailboxes into a single mailbox and check your messages at the same time. And, when you create subaccounts, everyone in the family can add their own wireless number to their personal mailbox. There are a few simple requirements.

Determine if mailboxes can be linked
  • Only wireless from AT&T numbers can be added to your voicemail.
  • Prepaid wireless from AT&T numbers can't be added to your voicemail.
  • Landline and wireless from AT&T numbers must originate within the same service area or the combined mailbox may not work properly and you may incur additional charges.

Note:
You can connect up to two AT&T wireless numbers from your primary voicemail and one wireless number from each subaccount mailbox. Voicemail works with most, but not all, wireless phones from AT&T.

Add a wireless number by phone
Link your wireless phone numbers to your voicemail using your keypad.
  1. Dial *98 from your home phone.
  2. Enter your mailbox PIN when prompted.
  3. Press 4 for Mailbox Settings.
  4. Press 2 for Administrative Options.
  5. Press 6 for Additional Settings.
  6. Press 1 for Wireless Number.
  7. Follow the prompts to add your number.

You can also access the voicemail system by dialing your home number from any touch-tone phone and pressing * once the greeting begins.

When you dial into voicemail remotely, you may incur additional access charges for non-local calls, hotel services charges, or wireless phone charges.

Add a wireless number online
Link up to two of your wireless phone numbers to your voicemail.
  1. Go to Account overview > My digital home phone.
  2. Under My Voicemail & Phone Features select Check or manage voicemail & features.
  3. Under Voice Mailbox Preferences, select Add/remove wireless number.
  4. Select Add number and follow the instructions.

Note:
Once combined, your wireless voicemail box will be eliminated and any existing messages will be lost.

Record a separate greeting for your wireless number
Create a different greeting for when your wireless phone number is called.
  1. Access your mailbox by pressing and holding the number 1 key from your wireless phone.
  2. Press 4 for Mailbox Settings.
  3. Press 3 for Greetings and follow the prompts.

Note:
When you add a wireless number, the default greeting for your wireless phone is your home phone greeting.
