Replace a phone that will no longer support 5G

A network update will prevent some devices from working on 5G technology. These devices will function as LTE-only.


What to know

On October 1, 2025, we sent a notification to all subscribers affected by this update. The message contains a link to our device replacement website. Use the link to claim a free replacement.

Your affected device should continue to function as an LTE-only device. But you won’t be able to connect to AT&T’s 5G network. This can cause reduced performance in some locations.

Claiming a replacement? You’ll get a newer model than your current device.

Claim your replacement

You can only replace the specified devices. No other devices are eligible to be replaced. Make sure you submit your claim by November 30, 2025.

Before you begin the claim process, make sure your account billing address is up to date. Your new device will be shipped to that address.

AT&T Wireless

  1. Go to the AT&T Reward Center and select Access your rewards.
  2. Enter the phone number that received the text message.
  3. Enter the billing ZIP Code.
  4. Claim your replacement device and place your order. We’ll send a confirmation email and ship your replacement device to your account address.

AT&T Prepaid®

  1. Go to prepaidpromos.att.com and select Access your rewards.
  2. Enter the phone number that received the text message.
  3. Enter the PIN code included in the text message.
  4. Claim your replacement device and place your order. We’ll send a confirmation email and ship your replacement device to your account address.

Replacement devices should arrive in 7 - 10 days. Each device will include instructions to activate. If you need help, explore our device support.
