Learn why your device won’t support 5G

A network update will prevent some devices from working on 5G technology. These devices will function as LTE-only.


What to know

On October 1, 2025, we sent a notification to all AT&T wireless subscribers affected by this update and an email to the account owner. Your affected device should continue to function as an LTE-only device, but you won’t be able to connect to AT&T’s 5G network. This can cause reduced performance in some locations.
