Change basic settings

You can manage these AT&T MicroCell® settings online:
  • Device nickname
  • Primary user email
  • Device physical address (required for E911)

Heads up:
  • We don’t sell the MicroCell anymore. But, if you already have a MicroCell mini tower, you can still get tech support for your device. For detailed steps on changing user info, search for and select your MicroCell in Device Support.
  • Have an iPhone®Download the free AT&T MicroCell app to activate and manage your MicroCell. Data rates may apply for app download and use.
  • Don’t have an AT&T MicroCell? Try Wi-Fi Calling1 to talk and text in areas where it's hard for even a strong cellular signal to reach. Learn more about Wi-Fi Calling.

Update other settings

Reduce dropped calls 
  1. Go to AT&T MicroCell Online Management.
  2. Select your account type.
  3. Enter your ID and password
  4. Choose the number linked to your MicroCell and select Continue.
  5. Select Enable next to Automatic Hand-Out. This will apply to all numbers on your approved user list.

Disconnect MicroCell
  1. Unplug the MicroCell from the router and the power source.
  2. Go to AT&T MicroCell Online Management
  3. Select your account type
  4. Enter your ID and password
  5. Choose the number linked to your MicroCell and select Continue.
  6. Follow the prompts to disconnect your device. 

Good to know: If you don't use your MicroCell for more than 1 year, we may deactivate it. You can reactivate it at any time.

Add or remove numbers from your MicroCell user list

Be aware that AT&T wireless or AT&T PREPAIDSM numbers on the list can access your MicroCell. Make sure you restart your wireless phone when it's in range of your MicroCell to complete setup.

From a smartphone
  • Send a text to 6235 (MCEL) and type either:
    • Add and then the 10-digit mobile number (for example, Add 1112223333)
    • Remove and then the 10-digit mobile number (for example, Remove 1112223333)
  • Keep in mind, messaging rates may apply.

From a tablet or computer
  1. Go to AT&T MicroCell Online Management.
  2. Select your account type.
  3. Enter your ID and password.
  4. Select the number linked to your MicroCell and choose Continue.
  5. Choose if you want to add or remove a number.
    • To add a number, select Add New AT&T Number. Enter the user's wireless number and name, then select Save.
    • To remove a number, select Delete.
  6. Follow the prompts to save and review your changes.
