About email addresses of AT&T wireless numbers

Every AT&T wireless number has a corresponding email address. You can send an email to that address and have it delivered to the device as a text, picture, or video message.1 Likewise, you can send a text, picture, or video message to any email address from your wireless device.

Send an email as text to an AT&T wireless number

You can compose a new email message and send a text, picture, or video message to a wireless number.
  • Text message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @txt.att.net. For example, 5551234567@txt.att.net.
  • Picture or video message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @mms.att.net. For example, 5551234567@mms.att.net.

Heads up: Don't include dashes or spaces in between the numbers.

Send a text, picture, or video message directly to an email address

You can compose a new message and enter an email address instead of a wireless number. You can also reply to a text, picture, or video message sent from an email address. The recipient will see your email address as:
  • yourwirelessnumber@txt.att.net (text message)
  • yourwirelessnumber@mms.att.net (picture or video message)

Text messages that start with 10101 come from someone's email address.
