How it works

  • Be sure you have an AT&T unlimited, AT&T 4GBSM, or Mobile Share® plan.
  • Pay a daily fee for each 24-hour period that you talk, text, or use data within an included country. Only 1 daily fee is charged even when you travel to multiple included countries in the same day. The daily fee applies to each line on your account using International Day Pass.
    • For 1 line, it’s $10 a day.
    • For each additional line on the same account being charged a daily fee on the same calendar day, it’s $5.

  • Call within or between included countries or back to the U.S. at no extra charge while in an included country.
  • Sign up once. AT&T International Day Pass® stays on your account for whenever you travel internationally.

Sign in to myAT&T and tell us about your trip. We'll let you know if your plan already covers you, or we’ll suggest the best option.

Heading outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands? International charges will apply when you talk, text, or use data. But you can save if you have International Day Pass, AT&T Passport, or a similar plan for international travel.

Tips to avoid unintended usage, data, or call charges

Usage charges
  • As of July 15, 2020, International Day Pass now covers the same 200+ countries as AT&T Passport®. With this change:
    • International Day Pass and Passport can’t be on your account at the same time. You must choose one or the other.
    • Already have both add-ons on your line before July 15? Be sure to remove either International Day Pass or Passport to avoid charges from both when you travel.
  • International Day Pass vs. Passport, not sure which one to pick? Choose the add-on that best meets your travel needs.
    • Want to use your phone like you do at home and don’t mind paying a daily fee? Choose International Day Pass and remove Passport.
    • Taking a longer trip? If you're OK with limiting your data use and paying a per-minute rate to talk, select Passport and remove International Day Pass.
    • Keep in mind, you can always change your mind. You can switch between International Day Pass and Passport before you go on your next trip. To switch add-ons, go to
  • Have an AT&T unlimited, 4GB, or Mobile Share plan with coverage in Mexico or Canada? If so, you won’t be charged the International Day Pass daily fee when you’re there.
  • If you talk, text, or use data in countries not included in International Day Pass, pay-per-use rates apply.
Data charges
  • Check the apps on your device. Apps running in the background may use data and trigger the daily fee.
  • Turn off data roaming on your device to avoid unintended data use. To learn how, go to Device Support.
  • Avoid streaming Data Free TV abroad to stop international data charges. Data Free TV isn’t available outside the U.S. so international data charges apply.

Call charges
  • If you plan to call countries not included in International Day Pass, add an AT&T World Connect® plan to your device. This helps you avoid per-minute, pay-per-use international long distance rates. To see rates and options, go to
  • Turn off Wi-Fi Calling. We won’t charge you for Wi-Fi® calls back to the U.S. But calls to all other countries will be billed based on your domestic calling plan or international long distance option. (Good news! International Day Pass now includes calls over the cellular network to most destinations.) Learn more about Wi-Fi Calling.
