  1. Make sure your device is fully charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Swipe down from the Notification bar, then tap Settings.
  3. Tap General, then About phone.
  4. Tap Software Update, then Update Now.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
  6. The device automatically restarts once the new software successfully installs.

Verify software version

  • Swipe down from the Notification bar, then tap Settings.
  • Tap General, then scroll to and tap About phone.
  • Tap Software info. If the Build number and Software versions don't match the current update; perform additional updates until they do.
