Customize usage alerts

Set up data and talk alerts to help you track your wireless use and prevent overages.

How to edit usage alerts

  1. Go to your myAT&T profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select Communications.
  3. Toggle each alert On or Off. Then, let us know where we should notify you.
  4. Select Save.

Current AT&T unlimited plans
These plans include AT&T Unlimited Premium®, AT&T Unlimited ExtraSM, or AT&T Unlimited StarterSM.

Know your premium data and speeds.
  • For Unlimited Extra, this happens when you go over 50GB of data use per line in a month.
  • If you have Unlimited Starter, it can happen anytime.
  • Additional usage, speed, and other restrictions apply.
Keep track of your data use.

Have Unlimited Extra? We’ll send a text alert to each phone that shares your data when you use 37.5GB of data. This is 75% of your 50GB data threshold.

AT&T 4GBSM plan
  • You'll get an alert when you use 75% and 100% of your data allowance.
  • If you go over your data limit, we’ll automatically add 2GB of additional data for $10. You’ll get an alert when you reach 75% and 100% of the new total data limit.

Older unlimited plans that are no longer promoted

  • AT&T Unlimited Elite®
  • AT&T Unlimited &MoreSM Premium, AT&T Unlimited, AT&T Unlimited ChoiceSM, or AT&T Unlimited PlusSM, or AT&T Unlimited Plus EnhancedSM: After 22GB, AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.
  • AT&T Unlimited &More, AT&T Unlimited Choice IISM or AT&T Unlimited Choice EnhancedSM: AT&T may temporarily slow speeds if the network is busy.

Older Mobile Share plans that are no longer promoted
  • You'll get an alert when you use 75% and 100% of your data allowance.
  • Your data speeds may slow if you go over your plan’s data limit.
  • Each phone that shares data will get the alert.

Older plans that don't include unlimited data
  • If you go over your data limit and we add data, you'll get automatic alerts when you reach 75% and 100% of the new total data limit.

Info about talk usage and other types of alerts

Talk usage alerts
You'll get a text alert before you use all your domestic talk minutes if you have any Rollover Minutes®. You may get more alerts if you keep using talk minutes after going over your limit.

Pay-per-use messaging and data alerts
Some older text and data plans bill a pay-per-use rate for every message or data session used. If you have one of these plans, we’ll send you an initial text message or email alert when you reach $20 in overage charges. You may get other overage alerts depending on your plan.

Older messaging and data plan alerts
If you have an older plan we don’t offer anymore, you’ll get text alerts before you go over your monthly message or data limit. We’ll also send you alerts once you’ve reached your limit.
