Learn the meaning of your gateway status lights

The following chart explains each status light and what it means.
2wire 2701

Status LightStateDescription
PowerOffPower is off or gateway is not getting power.
Solid GreenPower is on.
Solid RedPower on/self-test failed or gateway has malfunctioned.
EthernetOffThere isn’t a cable or device connected by Ethernet to the gateway, or the gateway is off.
Solid GreenA device is connected by Ethernet to the gateway.
Flashing GreenThere is activity from devices connected to an Ethernet port. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic.
WirelessOffNo devices are connected wirelessly or gateway is off.
Solid GreenA device is connected wirelessly.
Flashing GreenThere is activity from devices connected using a wireless connection. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic.
DSLOffNo DSL signal or gateway is off.
Solid GreenGateway is connected to DSL.
Flashing GreenGateway is attempting to sync with DSL.
Solid RedGateway failed to sync three times. Possible hardware failure. Contact Technical Support.
InternetOffGateway is in bridge mode or is off.
Solid GreenGateway is connected to the internet.
Flashing GreenInternet is connected and data traffic is passing through the gateway.
Solid RedGateway cannot connect to the internet.
