Change or reset your voicemail PIN

You need to enter your six-digit PIN each time to access your messages. We suggest changing it even if you're not using voicemail.


Phone handset

Make sure you have your authentication code handy, then:

  1. Press *98 from your phone. If you're not near it call your number and press *.
  2. Enter the PIN you believe is correct and press # if asked.
  3. Listen to the prompts that follow three failed attempts.
  4. Press 1 when you hear the prompt to reset your PIN.
  5. Enter the eight-digit authentication code you created during setup. You’ll have to enter it twice.
  6. Create a new PIN.

Online portal

  1. Go to the AT&T phone portal.
  2. Select the Voicemail Settings tab.
  3. Look in General Settings and select Change PIN.
  4. Enter your new PIN and confirm by re-entering it.
  5. Select Save.
