Does your AT&T Prepaid® phone number in Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands have an area code of 787, 939, or 340? If so, you need to change your number before April 6, 2024, to keep your AT&T Prepaid service.

Stay with AT&T Prepaid, get a new number

To keep your AT&T Prepaid service, make sure to contact us before April 6, 2024. You’ll need to know your 4-digit PIN (for account verification). Then:

  1. Call 611 or 800.901.9878.
  2. Select More Options, then Account Changes, and then say representative.
  3. We’ll help you find the best plan for your needs (you may need to switch plans). We’ll waive the fee for changing your phone number.

Switch to a different carrier, keep your number

If you want to keep your number, you can switch to a different carrier before April 6, 2024. We hate to see you go, but we can help make the transition easier. To change carriers:

  1. Call 611 or 800.901.9878 and select More Options.
  2. Select Account Changes, and then Porting.
  3. We’ll provide you with the details needed to transfer your number.

Unlock your phone

If your phone is locked, you’ll need to unlock it before transferring to a new carrier.

  1. Call 611 or 800.901.9878 and select More Options.
  2. Select Account Changes, and then Unlock phone.
