1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
   
2. Tap Settings.
   
3. Under My device, tap Lock screen.
   
4. Tap Screen lock.
   
5. Tap Pattern.
   
6. Touch and drag to connect at least four points.
   
7. Tap Continue.
   
8. Re-enter the chosen pattern.
   
9. Tap Confirm.
   
10. Enter the desired backup PIN.
    
11. Tap Continue.
    
12. Re-enter the chosen PIN.
    
13. Tap OK.
    
14. To use a pattern lock, touch and connect the appropriate dots while viewing the lock screen.
