You can add a Travel Add-On to any monthly prepaid plan. A VoLTE (Voice over LTE) device is required. Most smartphone devices purchased in the last few years are compatible. Check the device manufacturer’s website to confirm if your device is VoLTE.

If you don't see the International Travel Add-On listed in your available Add-Ons, you may need to upgrade to a newer device and/or switch to a monthly plan.

When you turn your phone on at your destination, we will automatically send you a text message. You can reply to that message to purchase the add-on at that time. You can also go to <a href="/myprepaid/" target="_self">att.com/myprepaid</a> (Wi-Fi required). 
Once you purchase the add-on, you can use it for 7 days. Therefore, we recommend that you wait until you arrive at your travel destination before you purchase it. You can make a payment at that time, but having enough balance prior to travel may make things a bit easier.

If you&#39;re in an eligible country, you can call and text within that country as well as with any other country included in the <a href="/prepaid/static-pages/intl-travel-add-on/" target="_self">International Travel Add-On</a>. The add-on also includes calling and text back to the U.S. (including Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa).

Your cell phone service will not work in countries outside of the International Travel Add-On coverage list. However, you may still be able to use Wi-Fi. Prepaid customers can also use service in Mexico and Canada, and charges are based on the rate plan.
