Next steps after you suspend service or block device

After suspending service
  • The airtime expiration date doesn’t change or postpone. Any unused balances will expire on that date, which may result in a lost balance.
  • If the balance expires, you have a 60-day period to re-establish service and keep the same number.
  • Learn ways to replace your phone or device.
  • Learn how to reactivate service.

While your service is suspended

  • No use or purchases can be done using your phone number, except for 911 and 611 calls.
  • Your number remains suspended until you reactivate it.
  • Your monthly plan fees and add-ons, if applicable, continue. See Manage mobile purchases and subscriptions to cancel any third-party subscriptions.
  • You can’t find your lost or stolen device using GPS.1

While your device is blocked
  • No one can use your blocked device on the AT&T network – even with another SIM card. We will inform other carriers to block your device as well.
  • The device stays blocked until you contact us to remove the block.
  • Your monthly plan fees and add-ons, if applicable, continue. See Manage mobile purchases and subscriptions to cancel any third-party subscriptions.
