File a mobile device protection claim

Learn how to file and track a claim to replace your broken, lost, or stolen wireless device. Plus, find out how to check your claim status.


Before you file a claim

Confirm your device is protected by one of our coverage options.1

  1. Go to Device protection and warranty.
  2. Sign in and select your device. If you see Status: Insured, your wireless line is currently signed up for coverage. Select Insured to see your coverage details.

Think your phone or device is lost?

  • Try to find it with GPS or location apps you may have installed before it went missing.
  • If you can't find it, learn how to suspend service and block your device. Once you suspend service, you won’t be able to track your device.

File a device protection claim

Your claim must be filed within 60 days of loss or damage.

To get started, you can go to:

  • Device protection and warranty. Look in the Fix or replace a device section and choose the topic that addresses your concern. In your device coverage section, select File a claim.
  • Phoneclaim.com/att or call 888.477.6832. Support is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to midnight ET and weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET.

Have this info handy:

  • Wireless security passcode or the last four digits of the AT&T account owner’s Social Security or Tax ID number
  • Date of loss or damage

You’ll be charged a non-refundable deductible when you file your claim. When your claim is complete, we’ll send an email with a link to check your claim status. You’ll get a confirmation email when your replacement device ships.

Heads up: If you don’t return your damaged or defective device within 30 days, you’ll be charged a non-return fee of up to $850. This fee will be added to your wireless bill.

Get more claim-filing details

  • You won’t have to go a day without your phone. We offer same-day replacement with our AT&T Protect Advantage® coverage. Otherwise, in most cases, you’ll get your replacement device in 1-2 business days.2
  • Some devices qualify for cracked screen repair (available in select areas for certain devices).3 If you're eligible, you'll have the option to select screen repair during the claims process. Then, you can choose to visit a repair location or have a tech come to you. Go to phoneclaim.com/att or call 888.477.6832 to start a claim.
  • The maximum value per claim is $3,500.
