Manage multiple accounts with your AT&T user ID

Learn how to add another account to your AT&T user ID and use 1 sign-in to pay bills or manage your accounts.

Add another AT&T account to your AT&T user ID

  1. Sign in to the account that you want to be your primary account.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Under Sign in info > Security & settings, select Linked accounts.
  4. In the My linked accounts section, select Link another account.
  5. On the Combine accounts or IDs screen, select the AT&T service that you want to register, and then click Continue.
  6. Enter the AT&T phone number or account number and the billing ZIP Code of the account you want to add, and then click Continue.
  7. If prompted, enter more information to verify your identity.
  8. If the account is already on another ID, you can do 1 of the following:
    • Keep 1 ID and remove the other ID. All accounts will be on the ID you keep.
    • Sign in with the other ID.
    • Request access to the account from the account owner.
  9. When you complete the steps, we may send you a one-time verification code. Enter this code to finish linking the account.
  10. To add your AT&T email account to your user ID, select Add an AT&T email account and follow the prompts.

Additional information

After you add another account to your user ID, you can do these things:
  • Sign in with 1 ID to manage multiple accounts.
  • Have either primary or secondary online access to the account you added.

Primary and secondary online access differs in the following ways:
  • One user ID has primary online access to the account and can manage requests for secondary access.
  • Secondary access users can co-manage the account online and perform most of the same functions as the user with primary access.
  • Multiple users can have secondary access to an account.


If you have an AT&T user ID with an AT&T email address associated with it, be aware of the following information:
  • The password will be the same on att.com and att.net.
  • You can sign in with your user ID or email address to manage your account or check your email.
  • If you change your password, it changes for both your user ID and your email address. Learn more about shared passwords troubleshooting.
  • For security purposes, we recommend that you change your password often and use a new password each time.
