Info about 10-digit calling

Some states require 10-digit calling for all outgoing calls. This means you must include the area code plus the 7-digit phone number for your call to go through. To avoid issues, update your saved contacts and any stored phone numbers for services like call forwarding, call screening, and call blocking.

If you live in California area code 408 or 669, you must call 1 plus the area code and the 7-digit number.

FYI:

• Most 3-digits numbers, like 911 and 411, don’t require an area code.
