The most common area code 725 text scam is the “wrong number” opener: a friendly message that pretends to know you, then moves the chat to WhatsApp and eventually to an investment pitch. Scripts currently circulating:
- “U at home?” · “Are you busy tomorrow?” · “How are you doing?”
- Delivery-problem and job-offer texts that link out to a login page

How number spoofing works in area code 725
Caller ID is easy to forge. Spoofing fakes the number a call displays. The real owner of that 725 number isn’t involved and usually has no idea. That’s why blocking one number rarely stops the calls.
