1. To perform a soft reset, press and hold the Power key.
   
2. Tap Restart.
   
3. Tap OK.
   
4. To perform a factory data reset, from the home screen, tap the Menu icon.
   
5. Tap Settings.
   
6. Tap Accounts.
   
7. Tap Backup and reset.
   
8. Tap Factory data reset.
   
9. Tap Reset device.
   
10. Tap Delete all.
    
11. If unable to reset the device using the above steps, try the alternate master reset method by first powering the device off.
    
12. When powered off, press and hold the Volume up and the Home key.
    
13. While still holding Volume up + Home, press the Power key until the device starts up.
    
14. Release Volume up + Home key when the Android system recovery screen appears.
    
15. Press the Volume down key unitl wipe data/factory reset is highlighted, and then press the Power key.
    
16. Press the Volume down key until Yes - delete all user data is highlighted, and then press the Power key.
    
17. Press the Power key to reboot the device.
