There are three AT&T home phone services to choose from, each with different options designed to meet your needs. AT&T PhoneSM is a digital phone service delivered over an AT&T internet connection with over 25 calling features like voicemail, caller ID, call blocking and more. To qualify for AT&T Phone, you’ll need an AT&T internet plan.
AT&T Phone – Advanced, uses technology provided by the AT&T cellular network and/or can use almost any broadband connection as a failover to support your current phone and up to six devices—and you get to keep your phone number. It also offers a variety of features you know and love like call forwarding, caller ID and call waiting.
AT&T Landline is traditional home phone service with flexible packages for local, long-distance, and international calling options. Traditional home phone service is available only to new customers in select areas of California.

The main difference between AT&T PhoneSM, AT&T Phone – Advanced and our traditional home phone is the underlying network technology that is used to provide calling capabilities.
AT&T Phone uses your AT&T home internet connection to connect calls, while AT&T Phone – Advanced uses the AT&T cellular network and/or an internet connection.
AT&T traditional home phone service uses our legacy network to connect your calls. It is only offered to new customers in select areas of California.
All of our home phone options offer a selection of home phone plans to choose from, so you can stay connected while staying on budget.
AT&T offers two different home phone services. AT&T Phone is our digital phone service, delivered over an internet connection. It offers over 25 calling features, including unlimited long distance, caller ID, and more. For AT&T Phone service, your internet must also be through AT&T.
We also offer AT&T Phone – Advanced. This service uses a cellular connection and can use broadband as a backup. You can keep your current phone number and connect up to six devices, including fax machines, alarms, medical monitoring devices, and more.
