1. From the home screen, tap Messages.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap Settings.
   
4. Tap Text message limit to change the setting.
   
5. Tap the Arrows to set the desired limit, then tap OK.
   
6. Tap Multimedia message limit to change the setting.
   
7. Tap the Arrows to set the limit, then tap OK.
   
8. To confirm the message center number is set to AT&T, scroll to, then tap Message center.
   
9. Enter the desired number.
   
10. Tap OK.
    
11. To restore the default settings, from the Settings menu, tap the Menu icon.
    
12. Tap Restore default settings.
    
13. Tap OK.
    
14. To adjust the display style, from the Settings menu, scroll to, then tap Bubble style under the Display header.
    
15. Swipe to the desired style.
    
16. Tap the desired style, then tap Save.
    
17. To adjust the background, scroll to, then tap Background style under the Display header.
    
18. Swipe to the desired background.
    
19. Tap the desired background, then tap Save.
    
20. To set emergency alerts, from the Settings menu, scroll to, then tap Emergency alerts.
    
21. Tap the desired alerts to turn them on or off.
    Note: Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.
    
22. To restore defaults, from the Settings menu, tap the Menu icon.
    
23. Tap Restore default settings.
    
24. Tap OK.
