USB Tethering

USB tether your device with your computer when there is too much Wi-Fi interference to connect wirelessly.

INSTRUCTIONS & INFO

Insert the USB-C end of the USB-C cable into the USB-C port at the base of the device. Insert the USB end of the USB-C cable in the USB port on the computer.

Turn off Wi-Fi when tethering

1. From your device's web browser, go to http://my.mifi. Click Sign In in the top-right corner then enter the Admin Password and click Sign In.

Note: Ensure that your device is connected to the MiFi 8000 Wi-Fi network. For more information, please see the Connect Devices to Wi-Fi or Connect PC or Mac to Wi-Fi tutorials. The Admin Password can be found on the MiFi 8000 device. From the home screen, select Help then select Admin Website. The Admin Password will be displayed.

2. Click the arrow in the Settings section.

3. Scroll to and click the USB mode when connected to a computer drop-down.

4. Click Internet access via USB only.

Enable/disable USB connection prompt on device display

From the Settings screen, click the Show USB connection prompt on touchscreen display switch to enable/disable as desired.

View USB connection info on device

1. From the device home screen, select Menu.

2. Select Connected Devices.

3. Select USB.

4. USB connection information will be displayed.
