1. Press and hold the Home button to turn on the watch. 

 

 

2. To connect your watch with your smartphone, navigate to and select the  Galaxy Wearable app, then select Start. 

 

Note: To install the Galaxy Wearable app, from the home screen, select the  Play Store app > Search tab > search for and select Galaxy Wearable app > select Install > Open. For more information, see the Download Apps & Games tutorial.

 

 

3. Select the desired watch to connect to. 

 

 

 

4. Verify that the code on the smart phone you want to connect matches the code on the watch, then select Confirm.

 

 

5. Review the Set up your Galaxy Watch prompt, then select Set up for a child. Review the Set up your child's watch with your phone prompt, then select Next.

 

 

6. Select Let's go.

 

7. Select the desired Google account, then select Continue as. Select the desired child's account or select Create account for child.

 

Note: You will be prompted to enter your Google account password. Enter your password and select Next. Select Skip to continue without signing into your Google account.

 

 

 

8. Review the Terms of service prompt, then select I agree.

 

9. To set up parental controls, select Get started.

 

10. Review which apps are appropriate for your child's watch, then select Next.

 

11. Review the school time prompt, then select Got it.

 

12. Review the Important contacts prompt, then select Set up. To set up, enter your display name and phone number, then select Continue.

 

Note: If you would like to proceed without setting up contacts, select Skip.

 

13. Review the Who can your child call & text? prompt. Select the desired option, then select Continue.

 

14. Review the location sharing prompt, then select Set up. Select Turn on to confirm.

 

Note: If you would like to proceed without setting up location sharing, select Skip

 

15. If you do not have the Google Family Link app downloaded, you will be prompted to install. Select Install. Select Next.

 

Note: If you would like to proceed without installing Google Family Link at this time, select Not now.

 

16. Select Next to finish Parental control setup.

 

17. Select Onward set up or edit Samsung account settings for your child's watch. Select Next.

 

Note: If you child does not already have a Samsung account, you will prompted to create a Family group. Select Create family group to proceed.

 

18. If your child already has a Samsung account, select the desired child's account. If not, select Create child account. 

 

Note: For this demonstration, Create child account was selected.

 

19. To create a Samsung account for your child, select Use child's Google Account or Use email address.

 

Note: For this demonstration, Use child's Google Account.

 

 

20. Review the Child Privacy Disclosure to Parents prompt, then select Agree. Review the terms and conditions. Select the desired option(s), then select Agree.

 

21. To confirm guardian verification, you must have a credit card setup associated with your Samsung account. Enter your security code from the credit card associated with your account, then select Verify.

 

Note: If you do not have a credit card attached to your Samsung account, select Register card and follow the prompts.

 

 

22. When your child’s Samsung account is created, select Next. Review the Galaxy Watch Child Privacy Disclosure, then select Agree.

 

23. Select the desired options, then select Continue.

 

24. On your child’s watch, set up a security code by choosing either Pattern or Pin. Select the desired security method and follow the prompt on the Watch to set up.

 

Note: For this demonstration, Pattern was selected. Enter the desired Pattern and follow the prompts to finish setting up.

 

 

25. Review the Samsung location services prompt, then select Agree.

 

26. Review the Automatic watch backup prompt, then select the desired option.

 

27.  Set your wearing preferences, then select Next.

 

28. Review the Get help in an emergency prompt, then select Next.

 

29. If you would like to set up a mobile plan, select Next.

 

30. Follow the prompts to set up a Mobile plan. Select the desired option, then select Next. Select Next to confirm.

 

 

31. If you would like to set up health tracking on your child’s watch, Set up.

 

Note: If you would like to proceed without setting up health tracking, select Skip.

 

32. Select ‘Agree to all’ to consent to Samsung Health storing health data, then select Agree again to confirm.

 

33. Edit your child’s target steps, active time and activity calories, then select Set.

 

34. Review the health data consent prompt, then select Next. 

 

35. Set up is now complete. From your watch, select Start and follow the prompts to take a tour of your watch.

 

Note: After set up is complete, ensure that the software is up to date.
