1. From the Start screen, tap the Messaging tile.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap settings.
   
4. The message center number is displayed in the SMS center number field.
   
5. To edit the emergency alert settings, tap emergency alerts.
   
6. To change the messaging notification settings, tap notifications+actions for the settings menu.
   
7. Scroll to, then tap Messaging.
   
8. Change the settings as desired.
