1. From the home screen, press the Right Soft key.
   
2. Scroll to Messaging, then press the Center Nav key.
   
3. Scroll to Message Settings, then press the Center Nav key.
   
4. To change the message alert, with Message Alert selected, press the Center Nav key.
   
5. With Sounds selected, press the Center Nav key.
   
6. Scroll to the desired option, then press the Center Nav key.
