This is my first smart phone and I've had it for 9 months. I'm not a heavy talker or user of a cell phone, for example I don't use it for business. This phone is loaded with features but also lots of AT&T junk apps that I never use. I haven't experienced any problems either before or after the OS upgrade as some have reported. Battery life can be improved by turning off WI-FI and GPS when not in use but never has been a problem for me as a light or average user.
I am upgrading to a new Google Nexus 5 32GB storage this week mainly just to get the latest Qualcom 800 snapdragon processor and KitKat OS plus supposedly a better display however I have no complaints with the Discover display. Only complaint I have is call quality when out in the country at the beach or wildlife reserves. I can hear the other end of the line fine but the callers I talk to complain of poor quality cutting in and out but I don't know if that's the phone or the carrier or just too far away from a cell tower (none in sight). Got it "free" with a new 2 yr contract.
Prosreplacable battery, internal expandible memory slot, decent camera not great but ok
Yes, I recommend this product.

Good phone. Could be better
I bought this phone because my HTC One X got damaged on a flight (flight attendant spilled soda on it). I didn't have insurance and wasn't about to buy another one. This was cheaper and it seemed like a good phone, so I bought it. I was really impressed by the speed of the internet, all the apps, the ease of use and the call quality.
That being said, the 12.6 MP camera isn't up to par; the 8 MP one on my One X was nicer. The battery has been okay, but I find myself having to charge it around 4-5 o'clock. The display is also awful and is hard to see, everywhere. Although the phone fit well in my hand and the curve of the phone is really ergonomic, the phone feels cheep. The corners got scraped up and dull after a few knocks, and my screen has one crack from the one time a dropped it. Ever since that happened, the phone has been acting funny, and restarts every few hours. This was my fault, obviously, but I wasn't expecting that to happen, considering I've only had the phone for about 6 months.
Overall, I would recommend this phone if you need a cheaper smart phone, but don't be expecting the greatest phone you've ever owned.
Prosfast, cheap, call quality
Consquality, display, feels cheap, battery i guess
Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect until OS upgrade
I loved the phone...Loved it so much! Until....the forced OS upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1...after that, it went wonky and stopped working right. I kept trading it in and trading it in and trading it in because the features would stop working or it kept rebooting itself. Now, I'm stuck with something that hardly works...the camera quality is poor now, it won't zoom in, the sound quality isn't that great anymore, the Kindle stopped working, most of the programs forced closed. I cannot wait until my trade up....two more months of this baloney....
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is my first smart phone. I held out for years. Overall, I really do like it. But I do frequently have to pull the battery to reset the phone as it locks up almost daily. I thought I had figured out at least part of the issue by disabling notifications on some of my apps, but the issue is getting more frequent again.
It does heat up when playing some of the more intensive games. It does also slow down if I have too many apps open in the background. I think that's standard for any computer/smart phone, though.
Prosnice display, decent camera, sound is good
Consfrequently locks up
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: Of course!!! That is on every smart phone these days. The smart phone has all but replaced MP3 players. A smart phone without head phone jacks would not sell. The Discover has them.
