ArticleINSTRUCTIONS & INFO

Connect your iPhone

Your iPhone® Wi-Fi settings determine when your phone uses nearby Wi-Fi networks to connect to the Internet. If no Wi-Fi networks are available, or if you've turned Wi-Fi off, you phone connects to the Internet using the AT&T wireless network.

To configure your iPhone to connect to your wireless gateway over Wi-Fi, you need to know your home's wireless network name and the security key.
  • The default network name is 2WireNNN. The last 3 digits (NNN) are the last 3 digits of the 2Wire serial number on the bottom of the gateway device.
  • The default security key is the 10-digit number on the bottom of the gateway device.

Note:
This installation process assumes the wireless gateway is installed and functioning correctly.

  2. Select General.

  4. If a new software version is available, select Download and Install.
  5. Enter your passcode, if prompted.
  6. Select Agree to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  7. Select Agree.

Connect to your wireless gateway Wi-Fi network

In most cases, your iPhone automatically scans for all Wi-Fi networks within range, finds your wireless gateway network, and asks if you want to join. If your iPhone doesn’t automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:
  1. From your iPhone home screen, select Settings.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Select your wireless gateway from the list of available networks. Note: The default network name is 2WireNNN. The last 3 digits (NNN) are the last 3 digits of the 2Wire serial number on the bottom of the gateway device.
  4. In the Password field, enter your wireless security key, and then select Join.

Note: The default 10-digit wireless security key number is on the bottom of the gateway device.

Your iPhone is now connected to the Wi-Fi network in your office for the fastest Internet surfing and email access. You’ll notice the iPhone automatically switch from your office’s Wi-Fi network to the AT&T wireless network as you move out of range.
